Sydney Wildlife Tours

If you’re spending time in and around Sydney, you’re closer to wildlife than you might expect — whales cruising past the headlands, seabirds out over open water, glow worms in dark gullies, and wombats and wallabies once you get beyond the suburbs. And if you’re short on time (or just want an easier, guided option), Sydney wildlife tours can be a practical way to get close to some of these species without having to plan every detail yourself. There aren’t heaps of tours compared to other parts of Australia, but the good ones really are worth knowing about.

This section pulls together the wildlife tours I genuinely recommend, based on firsthand experience or careful research. The articles below walk you through what each tour is like, when it runs, and the kind of wildlife you’re most likely to see.
