Argentina

Argentina stretches from subtropical forests in the north to the windswept coasts and open spaces of Patagonia in the south, making it one of the most geographically varied countries in Latin America. In the north, Iguazu Falls straddles the border with Brazil, where rainforest supports rich birdlife and mammals. Farther south, the Patagonian coastline is known for its marine wildlife, including the famous killer whales of Peninsula Valdés, which are observed beaching themselves to hunt seals. Inland, grasslands, wetlands, and forested river systems are home to several species of wild cats, including the melanistic Geoffroy’s cat.
